20+1: Twenty and (y)our Take on AI
from May 28 2026
“20+1: Twenty and (y)our Take on Artificial Intelligence” are 20 short video segments by leading experts and prominent figures who address key societal questions regarding artificial intelligence.
In a brand new video installation within our permanent exhibition, visitors are invited to explore concise assessments and thoughts on the digital transformation driven by artificial intelligence. To do so, they start an interactive touchscreen with questions, enter their answers, and receive up to four recommendations for a tour tailored to their interests.
These 20 perspectives address key questions concerning how we live with AI today – and in the future. After all, this technology is transforming not only industry and the workplace, but increasingly people’s everyday lives as well. The 20 thought leaders offer valuable personal insights into how AI influences interpersonal relationships, how new learning environments can emerge in schools and industry, how access to tools and resources can be ensured in a fair and inclusive manner, and whether manipulation, propaganda, and the immense ecological footprint can be brought under control. Thus, “20+1” offer a holistic approach to one of the central technological developments of our time.

Dialogue with citizens
A unique feature of the project is that both the 20 topics and the specific questions were drawn directly from the public. A total of 200 participants developed these together on two events in December 2025 and March 2026. To this end, the Museum of Communication established a novel discussion format that brings interested people together to exchange personal experiences with artificial intelligence and develop new perspectives on communication and society.
The results are not only incorporated into the new video installation in the permanent exhibition. They also form the basis for future museum educational programs on the topic of AI: Future workshops, training sessions, and discussion groups will address these topics, thereby helping to strengthen “AI literacy”, that is, the ability to understand AI systems, among the general public.
